Lower Sackville has a large variety of shopping opportunities to meet your everyday needs. The DOWNSVIEW PLAZA is Sackville's shopping center. You will find a variety of stores such as Wal-Mart, Pets Unlimited, Dollarama, Canadian Tire, Staples, Sobeys, Shopper's Drug Mart, as well as many smaller stores. Other then shops, we have Empire Theatres multi-plex movie theatre (called Studio 7), a choice of restaurants and more.
Sackville also several small to medium size strip malls where you will find smaller retail outlets and service type stores including delis, video stores, drug stores and more.
When it is time to grocery shop, there are two main grocery stores that you can choose from, Sobeys and Atlantic Superstore (Loblaws). Both stores have an excellent wide variety of food to pick from and not to mention the friendly customer service.
Sackville has most of the items you would need on a daily basis but does lack some more specialized stores including clothing and footwear. For these you can take a short drive to neighboring communities such as Bedford, Bayer’s Lake or even Halifax/Dartmouth.
A five minute drive from Sackville to Bedford where you will find as assortment of shopping available to you. There are two medium size shopping malls in Bedford, SUNNYSIDE MALL and BEDFORD PLACE MALL. A 15 minute drive from Sackville and you will find Bayers Lake Business Park in Halifax where stores such as Costco, Staples, Future Shop, Winners, Wal-Mart, Home Depot and many others are located. This is a popular shopping location for many ages.
Both Halifax and Dartmouth offer excellent shopping only a few minutes drive away. Because the Halifax metro area is Nova Scotia's largest urban center it is also the regional shopping area.
